ITSI Modules

Note: Module builder was removed in ITSI version 4.4.0 & higher. Module builder functiobnality is replaced by the ability the Splunk App for Content packs.

Modules ITSI modules are built from a collection of metrics, entities, and service configurations. ITSI modules process data collected through the use of Splunk add-ons and map that data to a data model.

Ex: Application server modules, Database modules, LB Modules OS Modules, End User experience etc

The following ITSI modules are available for individual download:

• Splunk ITSI Module for Continuous Delivery
• Splunk ITSI Module for Application Performance Monitoring.

All modules, whether included or downloaded and installed separately, do not require configuration. However, they do require relevant data to be indexed before you can create services based on the KPIs included in the modules.

End User Experience Monitoring Module

The IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) End User Experience Monitoring (EUEM) Module monitors metrics related to end user experience monitoring and end user performance issues such as page load time, page rendering time, error rates, and AJAX latency.

The EUEM Module lets you:

• Define the most important KPIs needed for end user experience monitoring.
• Collect web app & mobile performance data.
• Better understand your mobile networks, and how they affect web and mobile app experiences.
• See EUEM data along with server side and infrastructure data.

Operating System Module

The Operating System Module (OS Module) improves the service monitoring and diagnostic experience.

• Automatically discovering, creating, and merging OS entities that the service uses.
• Providing a rich set of predefined OS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with recommended and configurable thresholds that can be used to monitor the health and performance of the OS.
• Providing rich visualization as a contextual drilldown from the Service Deep Dive feature for the OS KPIs that let you further correlate and triage problems that impact OS performance.

• Splunk Add-on for Microsoft Windows

Role Assignes roles to entities - operating_system_host.

Index Defaul index for nix add on is “os”, windows add on is “windows”. If you are using your own index for nix/winodws app, add/replace index name in itsi_os_module_indexes macro.
