Service Templets

Service Templetes: Service templets are based on the properties of a single service and help you manage multiple services in bulk. Any changes you make to a templet are applied to all linked services.

There’s no limit to the number of services that can be linked to a service template at one time. However, the higher the number of services linked to a service template, the longer it takes to update it.

For example, if you add a KPI to a service template, it is added to all the linked services.

Path: Login to ITSI -> Configuration -> Services Templet

Steps:

  1. Choose service. If there is a lock icon =, then the service is already part of another templet. Seclecting the locked service, will unlink it from its current templet and link it to the newly created one.
  2. Templete Title: Create the title for templet.
  3. Team: Team to associate the service templet with.

How service templates differ from services

Service templates differ from services in the following ways:

Link and unlink services from service template

Link multiple services to a service template to manage them collectively in IT Service Intelligence (ITSI). A service can only be linked to one service template at a time. When you link a service to a service template, any existing KPIs in the service are preserved and KPIs in the template are added to the service. You can choose to append, replace, or keep entity rules.
